Decatur Where It’s Tasty

Big Swiss and I recently had a job in the Decatur area; for lunch, we decided to checkout a pretty well-known venue, Farm Burger. First off, I would like to mention how well thought out there menu was:

I found this visually appealing, everything on one page, readable font, bolded-enlarged prices, and I can always appreciate legible text not done in traditional black. Any who, Swiss dressed his beef in Maytag Blue Cheese (Ew), Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Bacon, and Farm Burger Sauce. As for myself, well, the Number 6 WITH BACON ($10.00) was more than enough to satisfy my taste buds.

I’m getting ahead of myself, I’d like to describe my experience before I got my cuisine. The old, wood, rustic look was quaint; on a negative note, they need more parking, angled parking to be exact. Once you order you get a “number-card”, I hate this trending form of operation; you sit, wait, and listen to ruckus until you get your desired¬†Hamburger.

Off topic, the bathroom emitted such a disturbing smell, please enlighten me with a comment as to its origin if you so please.

Mexican HamburgerSurprised to see this delicacy so quickly, so was I! A burger so wet and juicy that you reach for your fork and knife can never be tasteless and dry. Knifed it divide-and-conquer style; in my left hand resided one of the most famous treats in the city of Decatur. Admittedly, this was my first time devouring a Fried Egg complementing my beef; true carnivore. The salty flavor of the yolk added such sustenance and contrast to the twangy Salsa Verde. Speechless, my friend (Reggie) and I remained silent as we devoured our $10 investments. Gone in 60 seconds (notice I’m not linking to Nicolas Cage), we commented on how impressed we were; as for the fries, the business likes the whole “healthy, better for you” deal; in my opinion, I don’t care if it is natural or sea-salted, I want crispy, plentiful, salty intermediaries for when I contemplate my next bite.

Good:

100% Grassfed Beef that is dry-aged and ground fresh. Their southeastern raised cows have never had hormones, antibiotics, or grain. There are currently three locations with an absolutely amazing meal at every one of them. You will be  hard-pressed to make an argument against the quality of their establishment.

Bad:

Bathroom Odor | Less than Efficient Parking

Other Thoughts:

This place stays packed, more seating is a must.

Bathroom:

Back right corner and down the hallway. Single person bathroom; we have been here multiple times and the bathroom has always been far from desirable. If they are attempting to keep the clean, organic, theme throughout the entire building, than they have succeeded. You will not find any chemicals in your burger, nor any cleaning product used in the bathroom.

Adding to their health paradigm, I should mention the only use locally farmed burgers, “made from 100% grass fed [Cows]… [That are] never fed antibiotics, hormones, or grain” (http://www.farmburger.net). This organic appeal is a nice bit of information; however, people who partake in Burgeritis seldom care about healthiness, rather, hardiness. I believe my buddy favors Farm Burger, as do I; it is definitely a contender for The Best Burger in Atlanta.

I agree the number 6 was such a great burger I truly forgot I had fries in my basket too. Everything was perfectly cooked, moist flavorful burger, beautiful dippy egg, crunchy bacon and the amazing salsa verde; if you are lucky some of the awesomeness will drip onto your fries. Highly recommended burger…very cool joint and great staff. I will be back…best burger in ATL.
